I almost didn’t make it here.
There were nights I sat in my truck in the driveway with the engine running, staring at the garage door, wondering if this time the sentence really was over. Twenty-plus years as a Marine, ranks earned the hard way, Marines led through real fire — and still the invisible war inside my own head almost won.
Today I’m proud to tell you that You Can Always; Begin Again: A Stoic Spiritual Path to Resilience, Forgiveness, and Unshakable Hope will officially release on Mother’s Day — Sunday, May 10, 2026.
I chose Mother’s Day on purpose. My mother carried the weight of two names, being both my mom and my dad with quiet strength, whose hidden battles taught me that even the darkest nights can give way to new mornings — this book is for her.
This is not another self-help book written from a mountaintop. This is a battle buddy written from the valley by a retired Marine Gunnery Sergeant who has been exactly where you are right now.
Inside these pages you will find the same four pillars that pulled me through my darkest seasons:
The Valley – where we stop pretending the darkness isn’t real
The Decision – where one honest choice changes everything
The Practice – where we train like Marines train: one deliberate 30-inch step at a time
The Light – where we rise and cast that light so others can find their way
Every chapter draws from the Marine Corps ethos that forged me, the Stoic discipline that steadied me, and the radical forgiveness I learned through A Course in Miracles. It is raw, honest, and relentlessly practical — because hope without discipline is just wishful thinking, and discipline without hope is just endurance.
If you are carrying a weight no one else can see… If the light feels gone… If you have ever stared at the semicolon in your own story and wondered if this time the period had finally won…
This book was written for you.
It is my hand reaching back.
You are not broken. You are not weak. You are not alone.
As long as you are breathing, the semicolon still stands.
You can always; begin again.
The book drops on Mother’s Day. I can’t think of a better day to remind every warrior — visible and invisible — that the story is not over.
Thank you for walking with me this far.
Now let’s walk the rest of the way together.
