Sometimes life can seem meaningless without the answers. The feeling of separateness is a pervasive and destructive force that has caused many problems in our society. It creates a sense of isolation and detachment from others, leading to a lack of empathy and understanding. As we continue on our quest for knowledge, we must recognize the importance of philosophical inquiry in overcoming this sense of separation.
It is important to understand that we are not machines, despite society’s emphasis on productivity and efficiency. We must not be afraid to tackle the bigger questions in life, such as whether reality is knowable and what it truly is. By engaging with these questions, we can deepen our understanding of ourselves and the world around us.
One key to engaging with reality is to react to it in the present moment, rather than becoming lost in our own thoughts and distractions. When we are fully present and engaged with reality, it can be a shimmering light of truth and clarity.
Our perception of reality is subjective, largely shaped by our own experiences and beliefs. We tend to live our lives within a certain level of reality, often influenced by our sense of self and the world around us. However, this reality is not necessarily fixed or immutable. By questioning our assumptions and exploring the nature of reality, we can expand our understanding and create a more fulfilling life for ourselves.
Our sense of reality is not fixed. It is actively shaped by our perceptions, the way our brain processes sensory information, and our past experiences. When we filter out information that does not fit our preconceived notions, we miss out on opportunities right in front of us. By questioning those assumptions and challenging our negative neural programming, we can expand our sense of what is possible and create a more positive reality
“You are to God as the Mona Lisa is to Leonardo da Vinci; you are a masterpiece. You must always base your personal currency on what you are, not what you are not. As the ‘what you ares’ multiply, the ‘what you are nots’ will fade away.” – KJ Carleo
Too many people focus on what they DO NOT HAVE, instead of focusing on the things they DO HAVE. Your personal currency should always be your number one priority. That is where true abundance resides.
The adage that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder”, which is actually attributed to Plato as “Beauty lies in the eyes of the beholder”, postulates an opinionated perception of physical attractiveness. Yet there is a substantial consensus between observers as to who is actually “beautiful”. How extensive have the evaluations of beauty been agreed upon within and across cultures? And seeing that there is an agreement regarding what qualifies as beautiful, what explains this consensus? The answer is easy. It is a MISINTERPRETATION of beauty based on predetermined qualities.
“There IS beauty within you (not only physical attractiveness, either). It is YOUR JOB – not anyone else’s – to acknowledge, embrace, and reflect it. The only ‘opinion’ that matters is YOURS.” ~ KJ Carleo
