We all think about the future, widely based on or the result of the things occurring around us. When is the last time you reflected on YOUR future – regardless of outside events and circumstances? See yourself with the good that you desire; always and in all ways. How you feel about yourself RIGHT NOW is largely shaped by what you think about your future self. What you say or do will not necessarily shape your future. How you feel about yourself RIGHT NOW is very important on this journey of self-discovery.
Your personality plays a key role in this venture as well. Many people get intimidated or embarrassed by even the thought of taking a personality test. Don’t be. It’s not nearly as scary as it seems. Taking the time to find out who you are is the key to unlocking your identity.
Awareness of your personality type serves as a tool that discerns who you really are. The more you know about yourself, finding out who you are will become much easier.
You may be an introvert or an extrovert. Maybe you are a creative, outside-the-box type of person or a strict rules adherence type of person. Each personality type may serve you in a different way, and understanding your personality can make it easier for you to understand how you correlate and interact with the world around you.
If you find yourself feeling overwhelmed, completely lost, or downright bewildered about finding your identity, don’t be afraid to ask for help – it might end up being the smartest thing you can do. Find someone you can discuss your life with, maybe a confidante or a professional. This small step can be very beneficial, as there is power in knowing that you are not alone.
“Ask for help. Not because you are weak. But because you want to remain strong.” – Les Brown
Having deep, meaningful conversations with an expert or someone close to you might provide you with a better understanding of yourself and the world around you. Take the undue stress out of making big decisions in your life by getting help for what’s important to you. Your efforts will undoubtedly provide you with much-needed clarity and give you peace of mind.
The journey to your true identity can be challenging because there are so many factors that make you, you. The lack of a strong sense of self can lead to uncertainty and feeling like you’re lost, and even abandonment.
All things in existence have a reason for being, every ailment has a corresponding cure in nature, and each individual has a unique purpose to fulfill. What is yours?
I can tell you without hesitation that it’s worthwhile to find out who you are. When you discover who you are, you will become more resilient and boost your confidence – just accept the fact that it will take time and effort. As discussed in the above paragraphs, there are many effective ways to carry on with it, like making a list of your strengths, writing in a journal, or meditating to boost clarity.
By being knowledgeable and aware of who you are, you will find more peace, satisfaction, contentment, and connectedness with yourself, those closest to you, and the world you live in.
All victories must first be won in the mind. There is no other way. In order to put on your cape and hit the sky, you must first acknowledge that you already possess one.
Remember, you are to God as the Mona Lisa is to Leonardo da Vinci; you are a masterpiece. You must always base your personal currency on what you are, vice what you are not. As the “what you ares” multiply, the “what you are nots” will fade away. Strip away all of the misconceived perceptions and unrealistic expectations. Become the beacon of light that shines bright like the sun. Be that. Be YOU.
